Japanese auto major Honda Motors has brought to India, the first Hybrid Car. Honda Civic Hybrid is here that has been packed with latest, innovative and environment friendly technology. This latest entry into the car market of India is bearing a heavy price tag starting from Rs. 21 Lacs and is powered with a 1.3 litre o-VTEC (variable valve timing and lift electronic control) petrol engine and a compact electric motor, namely the IMA (Integrated Motor Assist) system.
India's first hybrid car is here, courtesy Honda Siel Cars India Ltd. Powered with an advanced and environment friendly technology, Honda has launched Honda Civic Hybrid car which runs on both, a 1.3 litre petrol engine and an electric motor. The Honda Civic Hybrid Car was developed in the year 1999 and India is the 33rd country where the Japanese auto major has launched this car.
The all new Honda Civic Hybrid car is equipped with 1.3 litre o-VTEC (variable valve timing and lift electronic control) petrol engine teamed-up with a compact electric motor, namely the IMA (Integrated Motor Assist) system. The engine of Civic Hybrid delivers 95 ps @6000 rpm with maximum torque of 212 nm at 4600 rpm while motor torque is 103 Nm at 1160 rpm. The cool and green Civic Hybrid car features ABS, automatic climate control Air Conditioning, soft-plush leather wrapped steering wheel, steering wheel with audio control and futuristic display panel. The price of Honda Civic Hybrid car has been fixed at Rs. 21.5 Lakh (ex-showroom Delhi) and is available in two colors : Premium Pearl White and Alabaster Silver.
